- 2 cups washed and peeled ginger root, cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1 1/2 cups coconut water or spring water
- 1 Tbsp honey, agave or maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
Wash and peel ginger root with the back of a spoon. Once peeled, cut into 1-inch chunks. Place 2 cups of ginger chunks into blender or food processor.
Add 1 1/2 cups coconut water or water. Place lid on tightly and blend to puree, about 1 minute on high
Using a fine meshed strainer or tea towel (recommended), strain out the ginger pulp leaving just juice in a large bowl
Add turmeric, lemon juice, cayenne, vanilla and honey (or sweetener of choice). Stir with a whisk or wooden spoon to combine. Place in a jar or sealed container and refrigerate until ready to consume. Makes 8, 2oz shots
Take first thing in the morning. The shot is very fiery and hot to the taste but provides instant energy that will replace your morning coffee. And healthier.Enjoy!
