Dr. Irv!

Place of Birth: Nashville Tennessee

Occupation: Physician, former Naval MD

What kind of kid were you?

I was a low-key kid, uh, very easy to take care of, uh very very laid back person.

Nice, ok, if you were to win 1 million dollars in the lottery tomorrow, what would you do with it?

The first thing I would do, is get the best tax attorney, for advise to get my taxes taken care of before I start to spend money and then take care of family.

What’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for you?

(laughs)Uh,well, a very nice thing is this particular job here…I uh, accidently saw it in the paper and I applied and they were not suppose to hire medical people, but the manager at that time was impressed with a letter I wrote, assuring them that I could put my professionals aside and become a layperson so I thought that was very nice.

That’s very cool. Ok, who’s the funniest person you’ve ever known?

I would have to go with the one and only Mr Richard Pryor

(laughs) Richard Pryor! That’s a good one, of course. Ok, if you could go anywhere in the world tomorrow, where is that place and why?

My favorite place is the Spanish island called Palma Mallorca..the Europeans flock all over this island every summer for the beaches and the good life.

Awesome. Ok you’re going to live the rest of your life on a deserted island. You can only take one of each. Which?

Candy Bar? I would have to go with my favorite and that would be Snickers!

That’s a popular choice. Type of Food? I’m in love with Italian and Creole from New Orleans.

Album? (pause) Uh, I would have to go with uh, I would say, I like James Brown, the one he had live at the Apollo, that’s a very nice album.

Movie? I would have to say, I have to think about that one, I haven’t been a lot of movies lately…

Do you have a favorite? Uh, Im trying to think, uh, I have to give that some thought..

No worries, favorite Book? Well, I like my own book that I had published

And the title is? It’s called The new Era of Terror. I wrote this book after 9/11 trying to teach this country to, learn to prevent atrocities rather than fix them after they occur.

Very smart. Ok, 2 people, one for conversation purposes. Who? Uh, well, that would have to be my Hungarian/Italian sweetie, Susan.

And for Romantic purposes? Same person!

Ok Dr. Irv, what would you like for people to say about you?

That I’m a person that likes to stress happiness and positivity. I never wanted my life to be like the dust that hides the glow of a rose. And, also, one colleague that used to be here…he’s passed at this time, one of his favorite lines regarding stress was “Don’t bookend problems, be patient, relax…they’ll find you!”

That was great. Thank You so much Dr. Irv!
